Silver points, double points, this week! I only have a few pairs
signed up for the Wednesday 11:00 game, but I'm sure I missed a few.

Tonight I'll be hosting our weekly newcomer game (0-20) at
7:15. For those games I have a need for as many as three standby
players to help fill seats. Last week I had some generous standbys
on hand, and ended up with an even six tables from the new players.
I couldn't put any of my volunteers to work!
It's valuable to have volunteers to help fill these seats. I can't
reasonably call on players from the substitute roster on BBO. And if
I fill a table with two experienced volunteers, they're going to
have their scores averaged down -- BBO doesn't yet have any means to
mark a pair as "ineligible" for awards.
But it's still rewarding to come hang out with the newer players.
There's no teaching at the table, only patience and encouragement
allowed, and a joyful attitude required. If you're willing to pitch
in, knowing I might not need you, please drop me a note and include
your BBO ID.
Two extra games for non-Life Masters (0-500) tomorrow, just
for Silver Linings week. Let me know if you plan to play! 11:00 a.m.
